was formed in 2012 by Simone Schnyder and Thomasine Wolfensberger. They studied architecture together at ETH Zürich, and worked at Heinz Müller + Partner Architekten and Herzog & de Meuron. Simone and Thomasine have known each other since primary school.
Together as studio sito they offer a wide range of experiences from designing small-scale projects, shop design, interiors and furniture to designing and managing big scales in large teams. They have national and international know-how and offer planning through all stages from concept design, schematic design, design development, execution drawings and construction supervision of smaller projects.
Thomasine Wolfensberger (MArch ETH) *1976
studied Architecture at ETH Zürich from 1997 until 2003 in the studios of Kazuyo Sejima from SANAA and Elia Zenghelis, Co. founder with Rem Koolhaas of OMA, Office for Metropolitan Architecture. During her studies she worked for FOA in London, SandelSansberg in Stockholm and E2A in Zurich. After graduating in 2003 with a master in architecture (summa cum laude) she joined Herzog & de Meuron in Basel to work on the National Stadium Beijing project (birds nest). During the following years she was responsible project manager and senior architect for national and international projects such as the VitraHaus, in Weil am Rhein, Germany, the Actelion Business Centre in Allschwil, Switzerland and the Beijing Film Academy in Quindao, China. In 2008 she became Associate of Herzog & de Meuron. She was, among others, in charge of the Guadalajara Museum in Guadalajara, Mexico, the Gasklocka Residential Tower in Stockholm, Sweden, a Flagship store in Tokyo, Japan, a temporary pavilion for fashion shows in Paris, France and the Masterplan for Monteponi, a post-industrial mine area near Cagliari in Sardinia, Italy. Since August 2011 she works at Tom Emerson's Chair for Architecture and Design at ETH Zürich as teaching assistant. In 2012 she formed studio sito architects, with Simone Schnyder.
Simone Schnyder (MArch ETH) *1977
studied Architecture at ETH Zürich from 1998 until 2004 in the studios of Elia Zenghelis, Co. founder with Rem Koolhaas of OMA, Office for Metropolitan Architecture, Dominique Perrault and Peter Märkli. During her studies she worked for Atelier Bow-Wow in Tokyo and for Heinz Müller + Partner Architekten in Zürich. After graduating in 2004 she collaborated with Roswitha Büsser to work on several competitions and projects. From 2005 to 2012 she worked in the office of Heinz Müller + Partner Architekten, where she worked on numerous villas in the surrounding of Zürich and was responsible architect of several luxury shops in Zürich, such as Tom Ford, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada and Trois Pommes Studio. Her experience ranges through all phases of a project, from designing in early stages to execution drawings and construction supervision, cost calculation, time and quality control. In 2012 she formed studio sito architects, with Thomasine Wolfensberger.
